How to Pull a Credit Report in HubSpot Using iSoftpull

Overview

With the iSoftpull HubSpot integration, users can pull consumer credit reports directly within the HubSpot CRM. This allows teams to review summarized credit insights for faster decision-making, access full credit reports, pre-qualify customers, and manage credit reports without switching between platforms.

This article walks through how to run a credit report, view and download full credit reports, review the Report Summary, refresh existing reports, and manage credit report activity directly from a HubSpot contact record.


Step 1: Navigate to a Contact Record

  1. Log in to HubSpot.

  2. Go to Contacts.

  3. Open an existing contact or create a new one.

  4. Select the Credit Reports tab on the contact record.



Step 2: Run a New Credit Report

  1. Inside the Credit Reports tab, click Run credit report.

  2. Choose the report type:

    • Soft Pull

    • Hard Pull

  3. Select the credit bureau(s) you want to run the report from (Experian, Equifax, and/or TransUnion).



The credit report form will open.

  • The applicant’s first and last name are automatically pre-populated from the HubSpot contact record to help save time and reduce manual entry.

  • Review the information, add the address (if not in the HubSpot record already) and complete any additional required fields.

  • For hard pulls, additional information such as Social Security number and date of birth will be required.

  • Confirm you have captured your consumer's consent and check the consent acknowledgement box.

When ready, click Submit.





Step 4: Confirm Report Success

After submitting the credit pull, success messages will appear confirming that the credit report has been generated for each selected bureau.

Once complete, close the confirmation window to return to the contact record.



Step 5: Access and Review Credit Reports

Once the credit report has been successfully generated, users can view or download the full report, or review summarized credit insights through the Report Summary directly within the HubSpot contact record.

View or Download the Full Credit Report

1. Select either the Soft Pull or Hard Pull tab to review the corresponding report type.
2. Within the Credit Report Summary section of the HubSpot contact record, click the Full Credit Reports button.

3. A slide-out panel will appear displaying a tab for each available bureau report. Select the bureau tab corresponding to the report you would like to access.


4. Within the selected bureau tab, choose one of the following options:
  1. View Report — Opens the full credit report in a new browser tab.
  2. Download Report — Downloads the full credit report directly to your device.

Review the Credit Report Summary

1. Select Soft Pull or Hard Pull tab to review the report type.
2. Navigate between bureau results by selecting the applicable bureau tab located at the top of the report view.

3. Click Open Report button to launch the Report Summary view.

4. When prompted, sign in to your iSoftpull account using your account credentials, then click Sign In.


5. After authentication is complete, the Report Summary page will load and display consolidated credit insights.


The Report Summary provides an aggregated view of the applicant’s credit profile, allowing teams to efficiently review key credit data directly within HubSpot, including:
  1. Credit score
  2. All account and open account analysis
  3. High-level tradeline and account metrics including:
    1. Inquiries
    2. Collections
    3. Public records
    4. Tradeline details
Users can also access the corresponding applicant record within their iSoftpull account to review associated credit reports and additional report details as needed.

Step 6: Refresh an Existing Credit Report (Optional)

If updated credit information is needed, users can refresh an existing report directly from the Credit Reports tab within the HubSpot contact record.

  1. Click the Refresh report button within the Credit Reports tab.

  2. The credit report will be re-pulled and updated directly within the contact record.

Once refreshed, the latest report data will be reflected across the Report Summary experience, as well as within the View and Download Report options.

Customizing the Credit Report Summary

iSoftpull account administrators can customize which data points and report sections appear within the Report Summary experience by configuring the Report Summary Settings within the iSoftpull application.

These settings are applied organization-wide and will affect all Report Summaries viewed through the HubSpot integration.

Where Reports Are Stored

  • All pulled credit reports are attached to the HubSpot contact record.

  • Previously pulled reports remain accessible for review, downloading, and compliance purposes from within the iSoftpull app via the Applicants tab.
